The 20th Annual Conference of the International Association of Urban Language Studies (ULS20) will be held at Inner Mongolia University in Hohhot (China) from August 26th to 29th, 2023. Due to the pandemic, the conference will be a hybrid event, combining online and onsite participation.
The conference is jointly hosted by the School of Mongolian Studies of Inner Mongolia University and the International Association of Urban Language Studies (IAULS).
All authors are kindly encouraged to contribute to and help to shape the conference through submissions of their research abstracts and papers.
I Conference theme
The conference theme is “Language, Civilization and Governance”. With the outbreak of COVID-19 and the development of economic globalization, language is playing an increasingly important role in all fields of society. The related research directions, e.g., language service, linguistic civilization and language governance, have thus attracted considerable attention in academia. Following the tradition of the Urban Language Seminar (ULS) series, the 2023 ULS conference welcomes the research on languages from diversified perspectives using both
quantitative and qualitative approaches, including, but not limited to, the following topics:
1. Language economy and language services
2. Linguistic landscapes and speech community
3. Urban dialects and language inheritance
4. Language contact and language communication
5. Language education and language policy
6. Minority languages
7. New directions in sociolinguistics

III Submission guidelines
Please follow these guidelines when submitting your abstracts:
1. Abstract should include title, summary of the research, keywords (maximum 5) and references
2. Language: Chinese, English or Japanese
3. Word count: maximum 600 words in Chinese, 500 words in English and 800 words in Japanese
4. The abstract must not include diagrams

V Conference fees
The registration fee for this conference: Online participants are free of charge; the fee of onsite participants is 600 RMB for non-members, and 300 RMB for students. Other expenses (travel, accommodation, visa fees, etc.) are at your own cost,

第 20 届国际城市语言学会年会 （The 20th Annual Conference of the International Association of Urban Language Studies）拟于 2023年 8月 26日至 29日在内蒙古大学赛罕校区召开。会议将以线下和线上相结合的方式举办。会议由内蒙古大学蒙古学学院、国际城市语言学会(IAULS)和国家社科基金重大项目“蒙古族语言生活调查”课题组共同主办。诚挚邀请各位学者踊跃投稿，拨冗参会。
一、 会议主题
随着社会、文化、经济的发展，语言在社会生活的各个领域中发挥着越来越重要的作用，与此相关的研究方向如“语言生活”“语言文明”“语言治理”等也为学界所关注。本届会议传承城市语言研究国际学术研讨会的历史传统，注重从动态的、多元的、跨学科的视角研究语言生活，运用定量和质性方法进行实证研究。本届会议以“语言生活、语言文明与社会发展”作为主题，同时包括但不限于以下议题:
（1）语言服务与语言经济
（2）语言景观与言语社区
（3）城市方言与语言传承
（4）语言接触与语言传播
（5）语言政策与语言教育
（6）少数民族语言文字
（7）社会语言学的新课题

三、 投稿要求
有意参会者需提交论文摘要，具体要求如下：
（1）摘要包含论文题目、内容、关键词及参考文献
（2）语言：中文、英文、日文
（3）字数：中文不超过 600 字，英文不超过 500 字，日文不超过 800 字
（4）摘要中不得包含图表，关键词不超过 5 个

本大会のテーマは「言語生活、言語文明と社会発展」です。
近年、「言語生活」、「言語文明」、「言語管理」のような関連研究は、注目を集めるようになっています。都市言語セ
ミナー（ULS）の伝統に従い、2023 年度の年次大会では、定量的アプローチと質的アプローチの両方を重視し、動的かつ学際的な視点から言語を検討することに焦点を当てます。
本大会は以下のトピックを含みますが、これらに限定されない研究も歓迎します。
(1) 言語経済と言語サービス
(2) 言語景観とスピーチコミュニティ
(3) 都市方言と言語継承
(4) 言語接触とコミュニケーション
(5) 言語政策と言語教育
(6) 少数言語関連研究
(7) 社会言語学関連萌芽研究
Ⅲ 応募方法
「発表申し込み書」は、以下のガイドラインに従ってください。（1）タイトル、内容、キーワード、参考文献を含みます。
（2）言語：中国語、英語、日本語
（3）文字・ワード数：中国語は 600 語以内、英文は 500 ワード以内、日本語は 800 字以内。
（4）留意点：図表を使用しないこと。また、キーワードは ５つ以内とします。

発表申込書ダウンロード（中英日３言語が一つのファイルになっていますので、いずれか一つの言語をご利用ください。使用しなかった２言語の部分は削除して構いません）

V 参加費
本大会の参加費について：オンライン参加者は無料です。対面参加（現地での参加）については、学会会員は無料、非会員 600 元、学生は 300 元（半額）です。
対面参加の場合の現地までの旅費等の費用は、自己負担になります。
